We welcome you to the Amarillo Diocese retreat center. When preparing for your retreat, here are a few things to note:
THE LORD IS PRESENT The Bishop DeFalco Retreat Center is sacred ground. There are two chapels, along with a stations of the cross prayer path, large outdoor rosary, beautiful courtyard, and gazebo for taking time to be present with the Lord and hear His voice.
FOOD We have a wonderful chef who provides meals, if requested, for groups of 10 or more people.
Major food allergens are typically avoided in our meals. Vegan and gluten free diets will need to supplement some of their own food.
If a group does not purchase meals from us, they will need supply their own dinnerware (dishes, silverware, cups, napkins).
You may provide your own snacks unless you request this service from us at $5 per person per snack time for groups of 10 or more.
DRINKS Coffee, tea and water will be available during your retreat at no extra cost. We have a filtered water and ice machine for you to refill a glass or water bottle.
Bottled water is not provided but can be purchased in the gift shop for $1.
Soft drinks are available for purchase in the gift shop for $1.
LINENS We provide all bedding and towels. These are solid white for your reference. If you wear makeup or have a spray tan, you will want to bring your own provisions to remove those during your stay.
TOILETRIES You will need to bring your own toiletries - toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, make-up remover, etc.
HEATING AND COOLING We are on a chill water system, which operates as either cool or heat for the entire system and cannot switch between the two in individual rooms. Please bring a sweater if you tend to get cold easily.
WIFI There is free wifi access for our guests.
KEYS Our doors remain locked at all times. You will need to keep your keys with you at all times. There is a $15 fee for lost room keys and a $250 fee for lost master keys.
SMOKING The retreat center is a no-smoking facility. If you are one who smokes or vapes, please do so away from the building. There are ash trays near the flag pole in the front and by the sheds on the side of the building. Our alarm system is sensitive and WILL GO OFF with the smallest amount of smoke near or inside the building. A $250 non-negotiable fee will be charged for smoking in or near the building if the alarm is set off.
MUSIC We have a piano and organ available in the chapel. There is a sound system with a wireless handheld mic, a lapel mic, several wired vocal mics and one instrument cable. Journeysongs hymnals are for general use with both guitar and piano accompaniment books. These are located in the sacristy. There is a projector available.
MEDIA TV's with hdmi cables are in each of the meeting rooms for your use. You will need your own laptop or other device as input.
COPIES Black and white copies are available for $.26 each. Color copies can be made for $.52 each.
