Do you have a desire to minister to others in the form of food? This job might be for you.
We are seeking a vibrant individual who loves to cook, clean and who has a heart for ministry.
It is a salaried position with hours primarily on the weekends with paid holidays, vacation time and sick leave. Full health benefits are included. The chef prepares the meals for the retreat groups that do not rent the kitchen to prepare their own food. If there is an event requiring a meal, the chef is working accordingly. However, there are also many weeks that there will not be any cooking (preparation and cleaning are done during this time) so it is possible to get the hours in during the regular work week. It is a somewhat flex schedule based on the retreat center schedule, which we know well in advance what is taking place.

Pay will be based on experience. Food managers certification is required. Flexibility, the ability to work well with a team, self-motivation and punctuality are a must. The person needs to be in good standing with their church and be willing to be safe environment trained if not already done or current.

OR Part Time Kitchen Manager
This position would be the same as above but only working when retreat groups are scheduled. It could be one of two ways: order and pick up catering and handle the serving of the food, the cleanup and basics of managing a certified kitchen. Or, cooking the food and managing the kitchen but only when meals are needed. The part time pay would depend on experience and a food managers license would still be required.
